LAUNCHING SOON! SIGN UP BELOW TO STAY UPDATED
Our vision is to weave a web of diverse youth and wisdom keepers around the world to support the next generation of youth leaders and community activists.
We aim to preserve, exchange, develop and innovate ecological wisdom rooted in indigenous knowledge systems and urban/regional folktales.
Our youth face growing societal, political and environmental challenges that require them to be innovative leaders and changemakers.
Our program empowers them through intercultural youth exchanges, as well as access to knowledge on sustainable living systems, indigenous cultural wisdom, holistic wellness and natural medicine, and community engagement.
HOW IT WORKS
Youth sign up by creating a Digital Postcard — sharing their story, dreams, and reflections.
They are paired with a Global Pen-Pal and welcomed into our online community circles.
Wisdom keepers, mentors, and elders also apply to share knowledge and guidance. They join our Wisdom Keeper Circle to exchange with other wisdom keepers around the world.
All members gain access to the foundation level Native Child of the World Toolkit — a modern rites-of-passage guide for youth in urban and rural environments around the world.
Youth can apply to join our Wisdom Keeper Rooms based on the topics of their interests and age group, and will get the opportunity to learn, exchange and level up from foundations to more advanced courses, or join other rooms they are interested in as well.
Our Wisdom Keeper Classes are grouped around the following themes:
Sustainable Living Systems & Agroecology
Holistic Wellness & Natural Medicine
Indigenous Cultural Wisdom
Community Engagement & Leadership
Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation
To complete our program our Youth Leaders will have to design and lead a successful community project with the support of our program mentors.
Youth Graduates will be able to train as Native Child of the World Facilitators for their community and share our programs with other youth in their region.
Youth Graduates and Wisdom Keepers can also apply to organise or attend our in-person regional and global summits.
Community Activists, Youth Development Organisations and Educational Institutions can also apply for our Native Child of the World Trainer of Trainers Program so that they can use our toolkit to upgrade their community work and youth programs.
"From a single postcard to a global movement, our youth walks a pathway of connection, learning, action and leadership"
OUR PARTNERS & NETWORK
IYX Africa is a registered Non-Profit Organization that empowers indigenous youth to be leaders and developers of their own communities.
We work with indigenous youth and communities in urban, rural and remote areas. Through our programs we educate, equip and inspire them to be changemakers and proud custodians of their culture and heritage.
